Optomap

Your yearly eye health examination includes dilation to check the overall health of your eye. Dilation is the use of drops to open up the pupil and allow our Doctors to assess the back of the eye that is otherwise not visible when the pupil is constricted. Eye conditions that can be seen during dilation include cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinal holes or tears, diabetes, and in rare instances even brain tumors or masses.

Dilation can be cumbersome and time consuming. It also causes blurry vision up to six hours after the completion of your examination. The Eye Gallery has state of the art instrumentation that is cutting edge to eye care. This instrument is called the Optomap and allows our Doctor’s to assess the back of the eye without drops or blurry vision.

Optomap

The Optomap is advanced technology that allows us to take a picture of the back of the eye and, in most cases, takes the place of traditional dilation. It is fast, easy and affordable. Best of all, the test only takes about one minute and causes no blurry vision. The results are immediate and equal or superior to standard dilation. It’s simple!

Please visit www.optomap.com for more information or call The Eye Gallery to inquire about the Optomap today.
